Aachen, February 26, 2018—LANCOM Systems, the leading German manufacturer of networking solutions for business customers and the public sector, expands their range of switches with the LANCOM GS-2310. The 8-port Gigabit switch is ideal for networking at SMEs, chain stores and home offices. It can either be managed conventionally by manual means, or it can be configured and managed by the highly automated LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC) based on state-of-the-art Software-defined Networking (SDN).

With the latest model in its extensive range of switches, LANCOM offers an additional Gigabit switch that is fully compatible with the products from its own WAN, LAN and WLAN product portfolio. Due to its compact size, the fanless design, and its rugged, non-slip metal housing, the LANCOM GS2310 is ideal for use in small offices and businesses, chain stores or home offices.

The layer-2 switch has 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two combo ports (TP/SFP). It comes with a professional security package including port-based access control as per IEEE 802.1X, TACACS+, SSH, SSL and SNMPv3. With a data throughput of 20 Gbps on the backplane, it offers full performance even under load.

The status of the connections is clearly displayed on the front of the switch. It features an integrated power supply unit and state-of-the-art energy-saving as per IEEE 802.3az, which automatically switches off inactive ports. By fully supporting IPv4 and IPv6, the switch is a future-proof platform offering dual-stack operation.

Highly efficient management with software-defined LAN (SD-LAN)

Like all current LANCOM managed switches, the LANCOM GS2310 supports not only the conventional LANCOM management tools but also the LANCOM Management Cloud. The LMC is the first hyper-integrated network management solution on the market. It provides network administrators with highly efficient SD-WAN, SD-LAN and SD-WLAN on one central platform.

SD-LAN automatically assigns the required network configuration to the switch ports, including VLANs. At the click of a mouse, switch configurations that are fully customized to each site's network architecture are rolled-out or updated simultaneously.

The LANCOM GS-2310 is available now for EURO 339 (suggested retail price excluding VAT) and comes with a 5-year warranty. The optional SFP-SX module LANCOM SFP-SX-LC1 is available for EURO 119.00 plus VAT, the LX version LANCOM SFP-LX-LC1 for EURO 199.00 plus VAT.

Operating the device with full LMC functionality requires a license priced at EURO 84 plus VAT (valid for one year). Three years are available for EURO 189, five years for EURO 315 plus VAT.

An adapter for installation in 19" cabinets is supplied.
