LANCOM OX-6402
Highly efficient Wi-Fi 6 and PoE Passthrough for complex environments
Whether amusement parks, stadiums, or schoolyards – outdoor areas with a large number of users require reliable Wi-Fi. For these high-density environments with high performance requirements, the OX-6402 in an extremely durable IP67 housing with Wi-Fi 6 is the ideal choice. The external antennas allow versatile use for wide-area or targeted Wi-Fi coverage. With Power over Ethernet Passthrough, simultaneous power supply of the access point and connected devices, such as IP cameras, is easily possible with just one cable.
- Dual concurrent Wi-Fi - parallel operation at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax)
- Including four 4x4 external omnidirectional dual-band antennas
- Free choice of external antennas or use of the 4 enclosed omnidirectional antennas
- Highly durable IP67 metal housing with integrated status LEDs – reliable even in extreme temperatures (-30°C to +65°C)
- PoE Passthrough for connecting an additional PoE network device (e.g. IP camera)
- Bluetooth Low Energy 5.1
- Power supply via PoE based on IEEE 802.3at (without-) or IEEE 802.3bt type 3 or 4 (with PoE Passthrough based on IEEE 802.3at)
- 2x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports (1x PoE-in, 1x PoE-out)
- Automated operation via the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC)
- WLAN controller support (including layer-3 tunneling)
- Suitable for use with medical electrical equipment in a non-life-supporting environment (EN 60601-1-2)
Dual concurrent Wi-Fi with an aggregated datarate of up to 3,550 Mbps
The LANCOM OX-6402 offers the Wi-Fi 6 standard (IEEE 802.11ax) for high-speed wireless LAN for clients in the 2.4- and 5-GHz bands. Wi-Fi 6 technology achieves transmission rates of up to 2.400 Mbps at 5 GHz and simultaneously up to 1.150 Mbps at 2.4 GHz.
PoE Passthrough for flexible power supply with minimal installation effort
The LANCOM OX-6402 ccan be operated both via Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to IEEE 802.3at and via PoE according to IEEE 802.3bt. When connected to a switch with PoE according to IEEE 802.3bt, the access point is also able to supply another PoE-capable device such as an IP camera via PoE Passthrough. This means that the devices can be placed completely independently of existing power outlets – minimizing the need for complex cabling in outdoor areas and saving installation costs at the same time.
Professional IoT support via BLE and USB
With the LANCOM OX-6402, you can easily dive into the world of the Internet-of-Things (IoT). Support for Bluetooth Low Energy (5.1) and USB 3.0 opens up many possibilities for you to communicate with modern WLAN sensors in devices or objects and use innovative applications such as asset tracking or digital signage with Wireless ePaper. In this way, you can easily operate solutions for digital room signage, electronic shelf labels, and other ePaper applications via the optionally available LANCOM Wireless ePaper USB.
Secure integration of external users
Using a cloud-managed hotspot via LANCOM Management Cloud, the LANCOM OX-6402 is ideal for the provision of Wi-Fi hotspots. The user benefits from secure and user-friendly Wi-Fi access, and the hotspot provider has the security of knowing that its own network is separate from the guest network.
High-speed point-to-point connections (P2P)
With P2P connections, extensive areas with long distances can be bridged outdoors in a targeted manner and thus buildings located at different distances can be securely connected to each other via Wi-Fi. By setting up a wireless network with directional antennas, neither complex cabling nor an expensive dedicated line for network expansions are required.

Wi-Fi optimization at the push of a button: LANCOM Active Radio Control 2.0
With the new automation solution LANCOM Active Radio Control 2.0 (ARC 2.0), you rely on holistic, self-learning optimization of your Wi-Fi installation. Real usage data from your LANCOM access points integrated in the LANCOM Management Cloud (except LANCOM LW-500) provide the basis for a predicted, optimal channel distribution, channel width utilization, and transmission power.
All you have to do is activate the LANCOM Active Radio Control 2.0 Wi-Fi scan and have the predicted improvements displayed. One more click and the optimization is applied.
Wi-Fi 6: More throughput, lower latency times
What exactly do these key words behind the new Wi-Fi standard Wi-Fi 6 signify? Especially in so-called "high-density environments", i.e. in areas with large numbers of Wi-Fi clients, Wi-Fi 6, alias IEEE 802.11ax, brings more stability and reliability to intensively used wireless LANs by making more efficient use of the available bandwidths and channels
How you can benefit from the technology with the ax-enabled LANCOM devices is shown in our Wi-Fi 6 video, on the technology page, and in the whitepaper:
Everything NIS2-compliant and digitally sovereign?
Does your technical equipment fulfil the NIS2 requirements? Does it support your digital sovereignty?
The EU directive on network and information security for enterprises, NIS2, may also affect you and sets strict security standards that could require action.
A plus point: measures for NIS2 compliance also strengthen your digital sovereignty. Put your network to the test now!
