New highly integrated router for site connectivity
Aachen, June 04, 2009 - LANCOM Systems present the LANCOM 1721+ VPN, heir to the successful LANCOM 1721 VPN router. This latest version of the business VPN router for professional site connectivity in small and mid-sized enterprises comes at an unchanged price but with a higher performance hardware platform and significantly more memory. This ensures that the LANCOM will be able to accommodate the free LCOS updates for years to come.
The LANCOM 1721 VPN+ features an integrated ADSL2+ modem, four freely configurable ports for LAN, WAN (up to 4x load balancing with external ADSL, SDSL, VDSL or cable modems), DMZ, VLAN and monitoring, as well as an ISDN interface for remote control, LANcapi and Dynamic VPN. The USB port can be used to network printers.
Flexibility through virtualization
The LANCOM 1711+ VPN also supports virtual networking, which allows the LAN and WAN to be used for multiple purposes.
Security and backup included
The integrated high-security firewall with stateful inspection, intrusion detection, and denial-of-service protection screens the network safely and reliably from attacks from the Internet. The included management tools LANconfig and LANmonitor offer not only convenient remote maintenance of entire installations and useful setup wizards—such as the 1-Click-VPN wizard which allows the simple setup of VPN connections between LANCOM routers—but also real-time monitoring and logging. Comprehensive backup and high-availability functions guarantee smooth 24-hour operations.
The LANCOM 1721+ VPN is available now at a price of EUR 579 excluding VAT. The device provides 5 VPN channels as standard. An optional extra upgrades this to 25 channels and additionally activates a hardware accelerator. This option is available at EUR 172,50 excluding VAT.
