Ascom-certified Wi-Fi solutions from LANCOM Systems
Aachen, February 15, 2016—Ascom has certified a number of Wireless LAN products from LANCOM Systems, the leading German manufacturer of networking solutions for the private and public sectors. The specialist for on-site communication solutions in healthcare facilities now offers secure voice-over-WLAN telephony via the network components from LANCOM and the Ascom i62 VoWLAN handset and the Ascom Myco smartphone. Hospitals and care facilities benefit from reliable and fail-safe VoWLAN connections.
Wi-Fi is of ever increasing importance for data and voice communications in the healthcare sector. With the rapid developments in digitalized patient care, VoWLAN connections are increasingly prevalent. Voice-over-WLAN integrates cordless phones into the IT infrastructure, and enables them to communicate directly via Wi-Fi.
With their Wireless LAN products designed and made in Germany, LANCOM Systems offers the basis for transmitting voice and data on shared infrastructures. When combined with the Ascom i62 VoWLAN handset or the Ascom Myco smartphone, hospitals and care facilities gain an attractive and fail-safe voice-over-WLAN telephony solution, which meets the rigorous security and availability demands that are so important to digital patient care.
After passing extensive interoperability tests, LANCOM Systems is now certified by Ascom as a WLAN technology partner for healthcare projects. Ascom Certified Products (ACP) include all LANCOM WLAN controllers with the LANCOM operating system LCOS 9.10, as well as the LANCOM access points of the 300 and 400 series (LCOS 9.10) and of the 800 series (LCOS 9.18). These LANCOM access points are approved for use in medical environments according to EN 60 601-1-2.
