CeBIT 2014: Network manufacturer LANCOM Systems sets new standards for bandwidth and security

Aachen, January 20, 2014—LANCOM Systems, the leading German manufacturer of professional network solutions, is showcasing the latest in enterprise networking at this year's CeBIT (Hanover, Germany, March 10–14). Counting to the highlights at the LANCOM booth (Hall 13, C28) are gigabit WLAN access points for enterprises, solutions for mobile and fixed VPN site connectivity, and high-security routers certified by the BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security).

With the launch of the new 1300-series of WLAN access points at CeBIT, LANCOM is one of the first manufacturers to offer WLAN solutions based on IEEE 802.11ac WLAN ("gigabit WLAN") for corporate networks. The LANCOM optimization solution ARC—Active Radio Control—combines a variety of radio-frequency optimization functions to provide significant new gains in WLAN bandwidths.

Speed also plays a major role with routing by LANCOM: The new VPN router LANCOM 1781VA-4G is LANCOM's first to provide VDSL, ADSL and the high-speed mobile standard LTE/4G in a single device. The use of VDSL vectoring will be available after a free update.

LANCOM solutions for highly secure VPN site connectivity are also in focus at the exhibition. High-security VPN routers certified in accordance with the Common Criteria (CC EAL4+) by the BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security) offer sensitive government and corporate networks maximum protection against cyber-attacks.

The range of switch products now includes the new 52-port Gigabit PoE+ switch, the LANCOM GS-2352P. As well as being a high-performance basis for state-of.-the-art networks, this component can also supply power to the new LANCOM gigabit WLAN access points directly from the LAN.

Customers, systems vendors and integrators with large infrastructure projects should take a look at the management and rollout solutions from LANCOM. The LANCOM LSM (Large Scale Monitor) and the new LSR (Large Scale Rollout & Management) are solutions for the centralized management, monitoring, and automated roll-out of large-scale and distributed installations. Visitors will find detailed information on LANCOM solutions for industries such as the hotel and catering industry, retail, education and health, and the public sector.

LANCOM connoisseurs will enjoy a first look at the upcoming LANCOM operating system LCOS 9.0. Along with numerous new functions for wireless LANs, WLAN controllers and hotspots, the new LCOS version comes with enhanced IPv6 support.

"We expect this year's CeBIT to be strongly influenced by the espionage scandals of the last few months," says Ralf Koenzen, Managing Director of LANCOM Systems. "Since the NSA activities became public knowledge, many companies have come to fear that their communications are being monitored on a large scale. At our CeBIT booth, we can show you how you can protect your data and your networks effectively with trusted solutions from Germany."
