Network manufacturer responds to strong demand by customers with international projects
FCC approval for LANCOM Systems' VPN routers, WLAN solutions and switches
Aachen, January 24, 2013—LANCOM Systems, the leading German manufacturer of professional solutions for the VPN site connectivity and wireless LAN infrastructure, has obtained the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification for a number of their routers and WLAN solutions, and also for their entire portfolio of switches. This fulfills a prerequisite for operating the devices in the United States and a number of other countries. The FCC approvals pave the way for LANCOM customers to implement large-scale, international projects for roll-out not only in Europe, but also overseas. Demand in this sector has recently seen a strong increase.
Stefan Herrlich, Managing Director of Sales at LANCOM Systems, explains: "These FCC approvals enable our partners and customers to employ our devices in large-scale, international projects with sites located overseas. This opens the way for exciting applications, such as the implementation of international branch-office connectivity or the optimization of processes in logistics. These are areas in which we have taken on a leading role in recent years."
A number of LANCOM VPN routers and central-site VPN gateways have been certified, as has a selection of 802.11n WLAN access points and WLAN controllers, and also the entire portfolio of LANCOM switches.
The FCC approval supplements the European approval of LANCOM devices. In combination, these approvals mean that the routers and switches can be employed virtually worldwide. For the WLAN access points, further national certifications may be required outside of the EU, United States, and Canada.
