LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for Mac OS X 10.9 "Mavericks"

Client for Apple's new operating system available now

Aachen, January 15, 2014—LANCOM Systems GmbH, the leading German network technology manufacturer for business customers, today released an update to its software VPN client for MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro & Co. The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for Mac OS X supports the operating systems Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) and Mavericks (10.9) to provide full remote access to corporate networks over any Internet connection by means of highly secure IPSec VPN. The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for Mac OS X belongs to the Apple-compatible family of solutions from LANCOM: VPN routers, VPN gateways and AirPort-compatible access points based on IEEE802.11n. The LANCOM Advanced VPN client is a universal tool providing connectivity to all IPSec-compliant routers and VPN gateways.

Configuration and operation of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for Mac OS X is easy: VPN profiles can be imported from and or/exchanged with the VPN Client version for Windows, or with LANCOM's 1-Click-VPN Wizard. Other features include Friendly Net Detection and an intelligent tunneling technology: This automatically switches to an alternative connection protocol if a link cannot be set up over standard IPSec. The user thus has the possibility of connecting to the central network via a VPN even when Internet access is restricted, for example when hotspots are configured with prohibitive security settings, or in 3G/4G networks. Communications function over ISDN, modem, (wireless) LAN, 3G/4G or iPhone tethering (with USB or Bluetooth).

The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for Mac OS X offers high-end security features for professional VPN connections in larger, heterogeneous networks at an attractive price: A port-based stateful inspection firewall with its own firewall rules for known and unknown networks, authentication using X.509 certificates and a FIPS 140-2 certified cryptography module.

Supplied in English and German, the LANCOM VPN Client for Mac OS X is available now from specialist resellers. Customers who already operate the Advanced VPN Client for Mac OS X can upgrade to version 2.05 free of charge. A free 30-day trial version is available for download from the LANCOM website.

Version 2.02 of the LANCOM VPN client for Mac OS X for older versions of Mac OS X is also available for download.

Apple, Mac, Mac OS, Macintosh, MacBook, iMac, Mac Pro, iPhone, AirPort, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks are registered trademarks of Apple Inc.
