LANCOM GS-1224: The professional switch at an entry-level price
Aachen, December 02, 2009—low cost, smart, green—with the LANCOM GS 1224, networking specialists LANCOM Systems extends their portfolio of products with a powerful layer-2 Web-smart switch in "power-saver design". At an SRP of EUR 339 plus VAT, this 24-port switch has professional functions such as SNMP management and intelligent power-saving mechanisms. With an energy consumption of just 20 watts, the GS-1224 switches off unused ports, has automatic power adaptation and fanless operation to consume around 30% less energy than comparable models.
The LANCOM GS-1224 features 24x Gigabit Ethernet ports, of which a maximum of four optionally operate as dual-media Gigabit Ethernet ports for TP or glass-fiber cables. The fanless design makes this switch ideal for operation directly in the office or other business premises.
The LANCOM GS-1224 offers all of the functions that demanding administrators require for security, management, performance and versatility: 802.1x, Quality of Service (QoS), virtualization (VLAN), SNMP remote management, and link aggregation. Furthermore, the switch integrates into the LANCOM tools LANconfig and LANmonitor.

The LANCOM GS-1224 is available now for a regular suggested retail price of EURO 339 (plus VAT). The device comes with a 5-year warranty. The optional SFP-SX module LANCOM SFP-SX-LC1 is available for EURO 139.00 plus VAT, the LX version LANCOM SFP-LX-LC1 for EURO 239.00 plus VAT.
