LANCOM now shipping Gigabit-capable PoE Injector
LANCOM GE PoE Injector provides Power over Ethernet in combination with normal switches
Aachen, July 29, 2008 - The LANCOM GE PoE Injector is a cost-effective PoE upgrade for normal Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet switches. This midspan injector allows LANCOM Power over Ethernet capable access points, including the new 802.11n (draft 2)-based L-300 series with Gigabit Ethernet, to receive power via LAN cable even in legacy Ethernet infrastructure without PoE.
The midspan plug-and-play capable LANCOM GE PoE Injector installs between the switch and the access point and connects to the power supply by means of an integrated power adapter. Multiple injectors can be installed by stacking them together.
The single-port injector is ideal where a single device or a small number of devices requires power to be supplied via LAN cable and where a full conversion to PoE is uneconomical. The injector is compatible with IEEE 802.af and can supply power via up to 100 meters of LAN cable.
The LANCOM GE PoE Injector is to be available as of late July for 79 Euro excluding V.A.T. and local taxes from specialist resellers.
