LANCOM Systems presents new 802.11n Draft 2.0 based access points with 300 Mbps
New series of access points – LANCOM L-300agn offer highest performance
Aachen, February 25, 2008 – LANCOM Systems GmbH presents their new LANCOM L-300 series of high performance access points at CeBIT 2008. The two access points LANCOM L 305agn Wireless and LANCOM L 310agn Wireless expand the LANCOM WLAN portfolio by offering up to 300 Mbps of throughput compliant with IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0. The L 305agn features an internal antenna array whereas the L 310agn is equipped with three interchangeable external antennas.
With data rates of up to 300 Mbps the access points offer up to six times the data rates of conventional WLAN standards. The access points feature a Gigabit Ethernet interface and support a 3 x 3 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) configuration with 3 transmitting and receiving antennas. MIMO technology greatly enhances signal reception and coverage in indoor areas. Signal reflections due to multipath which were previously the bane of traditional WLAN transmissions are now combined at the receiver using MIMO techniques. The end result is a significant improvement in performance and range over 802.11a/g networks.
Both devices feature dual band radios (2.4/ 5 GHz) and offer full backward compatibility with existing 802.11a/b/g WLAN clients thus offering investment protection. The access points are fully compliant with standard PoE (802.3af).
The access points can be centrally managed and configured by the LANCOM WLAN Controller and are supported via a software upgrade without additional licensing costs
LANCOM Systems offers a range of products including a comprehensive antenna portfolio. LANCOM will be launching the new AirLancer Extender O-D9a in March 2008. The Airlancer Extender O-D9a is a “dual-linear” Polarisation diversity and in combination with the L-310agn is ideally suited for creating high speed Point-to-Point Wireless links.
The LANCOM L-310agn Wireless will be available as of late March 2008 with a recommended retail price of EUR 399 plus VAT. At the same price, the LANCOM L-305agn Wireless will be available as of May 2008.
