New line of switches from LANCOM Systems
The LANCOM ES-2126 and ES-2126P for efficient and reliable networks
Aachen, June 25, 2008 - A new line of switches is the latest addition to the LANCOM Systems range of professional networking products. The new products are two managed switches, the LANCOM ES 2126 and LANCOM ES 2126P, each providing 24 Fast Ethernet ports and two optional dual-media Gigabit Ethernet ports for TP or optical cable.
This new line of switches now enables LANCOM to supply a full range of active networking components to its customers from a single source for the first time. The switches can be configured and managed in any browser with the user-friendly Web interface, with Telnet, or by direct serial connection over RS-232. The devices also integrate into LANCOM's user-friendly LANmonitor program for network monitoring. SNMP management compliant with SNMPv2 is also possible due to the integrated MIBs.
The two optional Gigabit Ethernet combo ports provide high-performance connections to the backbone. Virtual stacking management (VSM) enables up to 16 switches to be managed at one shared IP address.
The switches help to optimize high-bandwidth applications by contributing to efficient network management. They support the very latest functions such as QoS (Quality of Service), rapid spanning tree, port trunking, band-width limitations, port-based security settings, SNMP/RMON and IGMP snooping. This makes them ideally suited to small, medium-sized and performance networks in business environments.
The switches support up to 256 simultaneous VLANs. In combination with other VLAN-capable LANCOM equipment (such as the access points), they enable network virtualization to be implemented throughout the entire infrastructure. Professional-standard port prioritization allows data traffic to be controlled and directed according to specific criteria and is ideal for handling real-time voice or video data, for example.
The LANCOM ES-2126P additionally conforms with the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard, allowing any PoE devices connected to the switch to be detected and set up automatically, including important parameters such as classification and power limits. A total power output of 185 Watts can be distributed variably across all of the 24 Fast Ethernet ports.
The LANCOM ES-2126 and ES-2126P are available now at EURO 315 and EURO 650 respectively (suggested retail price excluding VAT and local taxes). Both come with a 5-year warranty. The optional SFP-SX module LANCOM SFP-SX-LC1 is available for EURO 199.00 plus VAT and local taxes, the LX version LANCOM SFP-LX-LC1 for EURO 299.00 plus VAT and local taxes.
