AirLancer USB-300agn transmits at 2.4 or 5 GHz
New high-end USB wireless LAN adapter for 802.11n
Aachen, February 2, 2009 - Networking specialists LANCOM Systems introduce the AirLancer USB-300agn, a high-end wireless LAN adapter compliant with IEEE 802.11n (draft 2.0). Unlike many consumer products, this WLAN client adapter operates in the 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz bands and takes full advantage of the potential of 802.11n by using MIMO and channel bundling.
When connected with wireless routers and access points, the new adapter offers transfer rates of up to 300 Mbps when using channel bundling and MIMO. Users benefit from higher data rates and significantly improved signal coverage.
The adapter supports the WLAN standards 802.11a/g/n. If required, switching between the standards is automatic to provide the fastest possible connection. For example, connections to the company network operate at 300 Mbps (gross), and on business trips you can be sure of compatibility to public hotspots that offer 54 Mbps (gross).
The AirLancer USB-300agn offers the best available security standards: IEEE 802.11i (WPA2) with AES encryption in hardware, WPA/TKIP and 802.1x/EAP.
The device comes with a 1.5-meter cable for positioning the AirLancer USB-300agn for optimal reception (e.g. close to the top of the monitor screen). Also included are drivers for Windows 2000, XP, XP-64 and Vista, comprehensive documentation and software for management and diagnosis.
The AirLancer USB-300agn is available now priced at EUR 69 plus VAT.
